Their unpredictable three color body, with multicolor glitter, also called lame, and unique body colors unique to each individual, are why these Medaka are so popular among Medaka keepers. These are High grade Medaka, with breathtaking colors, not typically found in the United States.

The medaka rice fish or Oryzias latipes is a small fish originating from Japan and south East Asia, which maxes out at 1/1.5 inches. They are great for aquariums and outdoor mini ponds alike . They can eat anything from flakes and pellets to vegitation and mosqutio larva. They like to be kept in groups, with a minimum of 6 indivduals. A water volume of at least 10 gallons is necessary since they have a relatively high bio-load for a fish of their size. With a temperature of ideal temperature of 50-75 degrees Fahrenheit , but can survive in 35-95 degrees Fahrenheit.
