The azolla is a small, but prolific breeding aquatic plant commonly found in agriculture. They are great for outdoor ponds because they suck excess nutrients out the water, and are great food for goldfish, and koi. Did you know they are called Mosquitos ferns because they cover the waterโs surface, making it hard for Mosquitos to lay there eggs? They also turn dark red when in direct sunlight.
