The medaka rice fish or Oryzias latipes is a small fish originating from Japan and south East Asia, which maxes out at 1/1.5 inches. They are great for aquariums and outdoor mini ponds alike . They can eat anything from flakes and pellets to vegitation and mosqutio larva. They like to be kept in groups, with a minimum of 6 indivduals. A water volume of at least 10 gallons is necessary since they have a relatively high bio-load for a fish of their size. With a temperature of ideal temperature of 50-75 degrees Fahrenheit , but can survive in 35-95 degrees Fahrenheit.
