The Dark Sapphire Medaka are a beautiful strain from Japan. This special variety has a completely completely metallic Lamé finish, with random external light on their back depending on the individual. Their distinctive and dominant features are one of a kind, with their breathtaking Lamé that seem to favor orange and blue. Our unique take on the strain has Strong Lamé around its whole body, making a great aquarium fish that you can view from the side.
𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐉𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐑𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐬𝐡:
The medaka rice fish or Oryzias latipes is a small fish originating from Japan and south East Asia, which maxes out at 1/1.5 inches. They are great for aquariums and outdoor mini ponds alike . They can eat anything from flakes and pellets to vegetation and mosqutio larvae. They like to be kept in groups, with a minimum of 6 indivduals. A water volume of at least 10 gallons is necessary since they have a relatively high bio-load for a fish of their size. They do best in a temperature of 50-75 degrees Fahrenheit , but can survive in 35-95 degrees Fahrenheit.
